How it Works.
We start with a simple phone interview to see what your needs may be and if we can help you. You can call us directly at 360.544.7309, or use the contact form at the bottom of any page. Leave a return number and the best time to call you. There is no hard sell and no obligation to do anything. We are only interested in offering a service to those who are interested.
What Does it Cost?
We operate on a flat-rate of $35 per hour. Any time spent is billed at this rate - from shopping to preparation and clean-up. There is a $20 trip fee to cover gas & mileage to and from your residence, and any shopping required. Groceries are a separate cost and can be included in the total charge. We provide a receipt for any purchases. Cash, credit and debit cards are accepted. No checks.
The minimum number of hours is usually four to six (including shopping and clean-up). If you do the clean-up you save an hour.
Weekly meal prep takes between six and eight hours, and that supplies an entree (for one or two persons) for five days, plus a salad, side dish and soup. Every client has different needs and the menu will vary accordingly. We discuss this in detail beforehand.
Why Are you Cooking
in My Kitchen?
WhidbeyChef is a personal chef service. We do not operate a restaurant or commercial kitchen which requires volume business to be affordable. As with other "private" chef services, we use your kitchen space, oven, sink and dishwasher to prepare your meals; then clean up as we go, store your menu items for refrigeration and reheating, and leave your space as we found it. We even take away the garbage we create. We just need enough space to allow for a large cutting board.
We operate quietly, efficiently, and clean. All surfaces and equipment are sanitary. We provide our own tools and equipment. We are insured and licensed to operate in Washington State.
